Jim Joven returns for his fifth. year of coaching at The Academy Volleyball Club. Jim  currently serves as the Boys Varsity Head Coach at Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis. For the Spring 2019 season, Jim was their Junior Varsity Head Coach, compiling a 21-5 record. In 2013, Jim helped start the boys program at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic School in Indianapolis. He still serves as their Boys Volleyball Coordinator and Cadet Head Coach. The St. Simon Cadet A team won the 2018 CYO Tournament championship and was a semi-finalist in 2017 and 2019.

In 2021, Jim lead the Trojans to their first ever regional championship advancing to the IBVCA Elite Eight.

Jim earned his bachelor’s degree from Wabash College and his law degree from the Maurer School of Law at IU-Bloomington. At Wabash, Jim was a four-year letter award winner in track & field, as well as an all-conference triple jumper. While in college and law school, Jim played rec league volleyball, intramural volleyball, and Wallyball.

Jim is a judge with the Marion Superior Court. In his spare time, he plays guitar and tries to keep his house plants alive. Jim and his wife, Carol, have been married for 19 years and have three children.
