Hunter Martin

Hunter is returning to The Academy for his third full season after time as the head coach for 12 Blue and 15 Blue during the 2021-2022 season then 17 Blue during the 2022-2023 season.
Prior to starting at The Academy, Hunter was the manager for Wes-Del High School’s girls volleyball team starting in 2013. While with the team, they reached the Class 1A final 4 in his junior year and were Class 1A state champions his senior year. He got into coaching right after graduating and became the volunteer assistant for the team for one season before becoming the JV volleyball coach for 2 seasons. He also was a coach for the Warrior Volleyball Club at his high school for a season with the 11U Girls age group.
After coaching for a few years, Hunter focused on college and playing club volleyball while at Ball State University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education while playing club volleyball as a setter for the team for 2 years. The team finished in the top 10 in their division at the NCVF National Tournament in both his sophomore and junior seasons, and the team was also the conference champion for their division his junior season.
Following graduation, Hunter spent half a season with the 13 Blue team at The Academy as an assistant. From there, he became the Freshman Girls Volleyball Coach at Center Grove High School for one season and assisted the varsity team to a sectional championship. He’s now going into his 3rd season as the Varsity Head Coach for the boys volleyball team at Brownsburg High School, where last season they were sectional champions. Hunter is also a member of the youth program full-time staff at The Academy serving as the youth coordinator for the Indianapolis location.
