Coach Mudd is excited to be back with the Academy boys program again, having just finished 2022 season assisting Rev 17-1 girls. The Team finished 2nd at AAU national’s (Open) and 3rd at USAV Nationals. 

Coach Mudd led the 2017 17-1s team so one of the first successful seasons the Academy saw with boys. 

In total, Daniel has over 17 years of coaching experience at a high level. 

Coach Mudd previously coached girls club at Circle City from 2013 to 2020 for the 18-Black (2013,2014, and 2020), 15-Black (2015),16-Purple (2016), and 16-Black

In 2013, the 18 Black team finished 3rd in the Central Zone Shootout (Open), 3rd in the Central Zone Invitational (Open), won the Bluegrass Tournament, the Team Indiana Classic and placed 5th at MEQ (USA).  The team amassed an 18-game winning streak and placed 5th at the Girls’ Junior National Championships (National).

In 2014, the 18-Black team took 2nd at the President’s Day tournament, accrued multiple top ten finishes, placed 23rd at AAU Open National Championships and earned college commitments for 90% of the team.

In 2015, the 15-Black team finished 1st at SPVB Pre-Nationals and placed 5th at AAU Nationals out of 92 teams (Premier).

In 2016, the 16-Purple team finished at a high level having strong finishes in all their tournaments.

Originally from San Diego, CA, Daniel attended and played for Miramar College as an outside hitter. Afterwards he then coached his Alma Mater- Junipero Serra High (CA) to three CIF championships. 

Daniel then made the move to head the boys program at MESA College (CA). During his 2 years there, he was able to bring the winning percentage from .327 to .700 and was able to arrange over 10 college offers to four year Universities.

Daniel then moved to Kansas City to coach for the University of St. Mary from 2009 to 2011. In between collegiate seasons, Daniel coached the 15-1 team for Southern Elite Volleyball Club (KC).

In his spare time Daniel loves to play softball, golf, soccer and beach volleyball.  Daniel and his wife Kristina live in New Palestine with their dogs, cats and 3.5yr old Lilyana. Coach Mudd and Kristina are expecting their 2nd daughter in late October.
