Ava Smith
Assistant Coach, 12 Elite Leopards
Ava Smith brings unmatched energy and dedication to her role as the 12 Elite Assistant Coach. A full-time Acute Care Occupational Therapist at IU Health University and Methodist Hospitals, she also works part-time in Home Health Occupational Therapy, coaches both volleyball and CrossFit, and still finds time to compete in adult indoor and sand volleyball leagues.
Her passion for staying active extends beyond the court — Ava enjoys CrossFit, pickleball, and lake weekends filled with water sports alongside her boyfriend, Carson, and her beloved 14-year-old dog, Dixie. When they’re not on the water, the trio loves relaxing at home or traveling to new places together.
Ava thrives on being involved in her community and learning from those around her. Coaching youth volleyball has been one of her greatest passions since graduating college, and she strives to create a positive, memorable experience for her athletes. She believes these formative years are crucial for developing skill, knowledge, and love for the game — and she’s grateful to play a small role in helping players grow both on and off the court.
